1. Techo Sen School of Government and International Relations

The Techo Sen School of Government and International Relations (Techo Sen School), is an integral part of The University of Cambodia, is dedicated to the development and training of leaders and researchers to work in Cambodia, ASEAN and international organizations. Graduates of the School can find productive careers in the civil and diplomatic services, domestic and multinational corporations, and regional and international organizations like the ASEAN Secretariat, Asian Development Bank, The World Bank, The International Monetary Fund and the United Nations and its agencies.

The Techo Sen School provides international standard, graduate level, non-partisan education and research. Its programs and research initiatives are designed for carefully chosen and highly motivated candidates who are starting their careers or have advanced to positions of higher responsibility in their chosen vocations.

The School offers Master’s and Doctoral degrees, short courses, and executive training programs.  These various avenues of education and training will allow TSS graduates to be an integral part of the process of uplifting Cambodian’s lives.  (In some cases, and depending on relevant work and life experience, students may not need a Bachelor’s degree in order to join a Master’s or Doctoral program.)

In addition, the School encourages and enables faculty and students to conduct interdisciplinary research.  Systematic and analytic thinking allows researchers to clarify issues and suggest creative solutions to complex problems.  This research benefits both the researchers themselves and will generate new knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting Cambodia’s current, rapid development.  Such knowledge and understanding is shared with key players in both the public and private sectors.

The Techo Sen School is also a policy think tank which undertakes research on Cambodia  It also provides consulting, policy advisory and market and economic research services to the public and private sectors and organizes corporate briefing and international conferences on issues relevant to Cambodia and ASEAN.

2. UC ASEAN Study Center

The University of Cambodia ASEAN Study Center (ASC) serves as a policy and academic think tank, conducting research and engaging in discussion on specific issues related to ASEAN, and the further development of the three ASEAN pillars (political, economic, and socio-cultural). The center encourages efforts to promote greater ASEAN awareness in Cambodia, contributes to Cambodia’s integration into ASEAN by 2015 and post 2015, as well as obtains support for ASEAN related projects to provide crosscutting research and analysis on ASEAN related matters.

Fully endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia the Center’s objectives are:

1. to promote awareness and understanding of ASEAN within Cambodia; and

2. to promote awareness and understanding of Cambodia amongst other members of ASEAN as well as the dialogue partners.

The Center’s secondary objective is to provide perspectives from interested stakeholders, for feedback and recommendations to the Royal Government of Cambodia and to the ASEAN Secretariat and other member states on the impact of existing policies and other initiatives in the pipeline. Thus the overarching aim is to provide an essential channel to enhance regional integration and cooperation for the benefit of all member-states, so as to better ensure that ASEAN develops as a cohesive regional organization of continuing relevance in a fast-changing world.
